Works Manager

Are you a hands-on Works Manager passionate about building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement? We’re seeking an experienced and driven individual to lead our manufacturing function and help shape the future of our operations.

About the Role

As Works Manager, you’ll be actively involved at the heart of our operations. Leading our small but effective engineering production team, managing critical engineering projects and driving continuous improvement, making a real and visible impact every day. The products produced are steel formed sections using press brake forming and plate rolling machines.

 Key Responsibilities

- Plan production schedules, managing lead-times for all manufacturing operations.

- Recruit and employ works personnel.

- Lead, develop and manage the Engineering team.

- Ensure equipment efficiency, safety compliance and regulatory maintenance.

- Manage engineering projects from planning to completion.

- Manage and implement health and safety best practice across all site operations.

- Effectively manage lead-times for all manufacturing operations.

- Manage site security, including locking up the site.

 Skills and Qualifications

- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally in steel and fabrication sectors).

- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and project management skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Experience in Health & Safety regulations and practices.

 Schedule

- Day shift, 7.30 to 4.30 tbc

- Monday to Friday

 Ability to commute

- Kingswinford DY6 7AU

 Salary

- Negotiable, dependant on skills and experience.

Sales Estimator

Monday to Friday, full time, flexible hours to suit.

We are currently looking to recruit a Sales Estimator to work alongside our friendly & established Sales & Production team.

Main duties:

*                 To interpret customer enquiries/drawings and prepare quotations for steel forming using multiple processing techniques including press brake forming, plate rolling and laser cutting.

*                 Manage several existing customer accounts as well as striving to increase our current client base.

*                 Follow through/oversee & liaise with the appropriate personnel to ensure timely completion and delivery of orders.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, good literacy & numeracy skills, previous sales/estimating experience. Must be reliable, enthusiastic, proactive & positive.

Knowledge of cad and erp software would be a distinct advantage, alongside previous experience within a similar industry.
